Porridge…...Super Food?!

Why a bowl of Porridge a day is good for us

• It is a high fibre food which helps to control cholesterol levels and prevents constipation.
• It is a low GI food which stabilises ones blood sugar levels and if consumed on a regular basis can help to reduce the risk of Type 2 diabetes developing.
• It helps to prevent heart disease and certain cancers.
• It is low in calories so can help one to maintain a healthy weight.

Porridge can be enjoyed with some honey or a handful of mixed nuts, raisins, blueberries or dried fruit.
